Turkish delight is called lokum in its home country, traditionally rose flavored .

In the before times there was a stand in London's Kings Cross station selling lots of flavors, along with other Middle Eastern sweets but it's now gone.

The library of my first 17 years (and still there!) is the Long Beach (NY) Public Library. The teen area used to have booths, like in restaurants, with benches covered in unyielding yet comfortable green vinyl. There we crammed in, six to a side (if we were lucky enough to get there first) with our friends, pretending to study and decompressing from school. And yet papers did get written and group projects completed. I'm not sure of when the booths were removed, but I always feel the loss and cherish the ghosts during my annual visit.

So happy that the building still stands - I think vinyl booths all vanished with our childhoods. The way those seats felt on hot days--how they stuck to the backs of your legs! Thanks for this memory! Yay library kid!
