Regarding arrivals and departures of this lovely rotating sphere we call home:
Yesterday, I attended a perfectly beautiful funeral slightly out of town, and today I am going away to a three day literary nonprofit leadership conference entirely out of town.
Amid all this actual traveling, I am doing a lot of buying of airline tickets - going to Atlanta to a wedding next weekend, and traveling overseas next month. Because of the process of buying these plane tickets—a task I thought would be quick and easy—I wrote this crazy thing on Medium. I started to write it here, for this newsletter, but it is about 2000 words and that’s too long for anyone to see in their inbox (apologies to everyone subscribed to my Medium, because it is already in your inbox).
It’s funny though, so if you’re in a rather wicked mood, feel free to click through to read it. It’s about hamburgers.
WRITING:
So I already told you about my hamburger/airline essay. You can access that here.
The only other new thing that’s out right now besides the After Dinner Conversation short story (which you have to purchase to access) is my short story in New Myth’s Magazine. But the link they’ve posted isn’t live yet - presumably someone too umbrage with something and is holding up the release. Well, you can see the cover at least. It’s pretty neat.
